Q Navigate to the threaded discussion; write two paragraphs totaling 150-200 words, one for each passage you selected in #4. Each paragraph should do two things. First, it should attempt to identify some of apocalyptic elements in this passage. You may use the characteristics discussed in the lecture or in the textbook. Second, you should explain how this passage exemplifies the perspective on salvation in the book of Revelation. You are also encouraged to incorporate materials from the readings and lecture in your posts.

The first passage that I have chosen is “But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.” (Revelation 5:3). In this passage, John is able to see the scroll that is in front of him but becomes sad for no one is able to open it. Opening of this scroll is the metaphor of the starting of the end time. Along with it the book of Revelation gives us a metaphor of how the broken history of humans filled with sin can be redeemed. Humans think that power is the only thing through which they can control everything by forcing others to do their will even though it causes them harm. The question here is how should we open the scroll and we assert by a force which is our firepower. This passage talks about the power used by the Messiah for the salvation of humans.
